My name is Ethi. I was born, raised and continue to live in the diverse and beautiful neighborhood of Dorchester, Massachusestts. Filled with a rich sense of history, culture and tradition, its an endless source of inspiration and support.
I did not grow up wanting to be a photographer. In fact, if you asked my thirteen year old self what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have listed a litany of careers starting with professional gymnast and ending with Oprah. Today, Oprah has been replaced with Michelle Obama, but I can still settle for the O! Like anyone though, I always loved a well told story. Whether reading an book, writing, watching both cheesy and iconic films, or even listening to old comedy records, I have always been in love with the incredible ways life can be seen and captured.
In the past five years, I have learned a great deal about light, composition, and storytelling. I don’t consider myself an amateur, however in many ways, my journey is just beginning. The learning experience in any craft is eternal. Keeping with that philosophy, I am constantly building confidence in my skills and instincts, developing a deliberate and personal point of view. As I continue to pay my dues, I look forward to the challenges that will allow me to grow. For now, if you wish, follow my journey along this path of education, introspection, and discovery.
